One of the billing requirements that each date of service is edited against is in fact an ICD Code. There must be an ICD code attached to each date of service in order to be properly submitted. However, the ICD code can come from multiple locations on Ksystems, including the Order/Referral for service or the Data Entry Calendar Page. In addition, each date of service that is submitted on Ksystems must have a CPT Code. However, currently there does not have to be a direct correlation between the ICD Code or Medical Diagnosis and the CPT Codes that are chosen.
